This is Craig from Black Diamond Equipment and I'm going to be talking about the Verdict Ski. The Verdict is an all mountain ski and 102 millimeters under the foot. It's going to provide great stability and float in powder conditions that you're going to find back country and in area. The Verdict uses our Formula One Technology. It's a solid poplar wood core with three ribs of material that run the full length of the ski. The cavity type design allows us to keep the weight down while not affecting the overall stiffness of the ski.

One of the challenges you have with skis this wide is controlling the torsional stiffness or edge control without adding a lot of weight to do that. We accomplish this by adding birch stringers above the edge that run the entire length of the ski. This dense material is going to increase your edge hold and it's not going to add a lot of weight by doing that. For more information on this ski, go see your experts at your local REI.
